Privacy policy
Draft of October 12, 2026
This policy explains what LeadGate ("we", "us") collects through LeadGate and its mortgage protection quote pages, shown as Mortgage Protection Quotes, how we use it, and who we share it with.
1. If you asked for a mortgage protection quote
What we collect
- Your answers: ZIP code, about how much is left on your mortgage, who you would want to protect, whether your family could keep paying for the home, why it matters to you, and your date of birth.
- Your contact details: first and last name, email address and phone number.
- Technical details: your IP address, browser and device type, the ad or link that brought you (for example campaign and ad codes in the web address), and a random visitor number saved in your browser so we can count how many people finish each step.
How we use it
- To confirm your phone number with a text code.
- To send your request to a licensed insurance agent who can go over your options.
- To spot duplicate or fake requests.
- To understand which ads and form steps work, so we can improve them.
- To follow the law and answer lawful requests.
Who we share it with
- One licensed insurance agent. We send your request to one agent who uses LeadGate and has told us they are licensed in your state. We do not send it to other agents. That agent may contact you by phone call, text and email about mortgage protection, as you agreed on the form. The agent keeps their own copy and handles it under their own privacy practices.
- Service providers who run parts of our service for us, such as hosting, text messages, email, payments and support tools. They may only use it to provide that service.
- When the law requires it, or to protect our rights, our users or the public.
2. Text-code verification
When you tap the button on the phone step, a 6-digit code is texted to the number you entered. The code is sent and checked by our phone verification provider, Google Firebase Authentication, which also uses Google reCAPTCHA to stop automated abuse. To do this, Google receives your phone number, your IP address and details about your browser and device, and handles them under the Google Privacy Policy. We use the code only to confirm the number is yours.
The code works for a short time set by the provider. On our side your request stays open for 30 minutes; after that, ask for a new code. Message and data rates may apply. This is a one-time message, not a marketing list.
Once your number is confirmed, the agent you are matched with may call or text you about your request. You can ask them to stop at any time. You can also email support@leadgate.io and we will pass your request on.
3. If you are an insurance agent
- Account details: name, email, phone, agency, license number, the states you choose, your photo and the number leads see, and your CRM connection details.
- Wallet and payments: loads, charges, plans and receipts. Card payments are handled by our payment processor; we do not store your full card number.
- Your work in the portal: lead statuses and results you record, and settings you change.
- Support messages: chats in Customer Support. They are answered first by an AI assistant, and our team can read them.
- Shown to homeowners: your name, photo, license number and contact number appear on the thank-you page of each homeowner you are matched with.
- Waitlist and call requests: if you join the waitlist or ask for a call, we keep what you send us (such as name, email, phone, agency and notes) to contact you.
4. Cookies and analytics
- A sign-in cookie keeps agents and our team signed in. It is needed for the portal to work.
- The quote form saves a random visitor number in your browser to count form steps. It does not contain your name or contact details.
- Small settings, such as dark mode in the portal, are saved in your browser.
- On the phone step, Google reCAPTCHA (part of our phone verification) may set its own cookies to tell people from bots.
- We do not use advertising pixels or third-party analytics on these pages today. If we add any, we will update this section first.
5. How long we keep it and how we protect it
We keep information for as long as your account is active and up to five years after it closes, or longer when the law requires it. We use reasonable safeguards such as encrypted connections and limited staff access, but no system is perfectly secure.
6. See, correct or delete your information
To ask what we hold about you, to correct it, or to have it deleted, email support@leadgate.io from the email address you used, or include the phone number you entered. We will confirm the request and answer within 30 days. We delete or anonymize your information, including the record that your phone number was verified (we also ask our verification provider to delete its record of your number), unless the law requires us to keep it. We cannot delete the copy held by the agent you were matched with, but we will forward your request to them.
Reviewer: add any state-specific rights sections that apply.
7. Children
Our service is for adults. The quote form is for ages 18 to 85, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.
8. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. We will post the new version here with its date.
